Invisible Children is a nonprofit working to permanently end atrocities committed by the Lord’s Resistance Army in East Africa. These do-gooder artists and activists prove that young people can and will make a difference — and we’re proud to call them our friends.

Invisible’s international events accomplish three objectives: educate supporters, engage leaders and enact change. For their third event, The Rescue, IC asked attendees to “abduct themselves for the abducted.” More than 85,000 people across 10 countries and 100 cities abducted themselves. And we got it on tape. Well, not actually tape but you get the idea.

BEHIND THE SCENES

The film starts where the event starts — in Uganda, with a reenactment of the abduction and indoctrination of child soldiers. From there, it moves to the event footage, filmed simultaneously in 15 cities worldwide. Toss in some postcard-worthy shots of international landmarks. Name-drop celebrities who showed up and showed support. Add some really kick-ass banners and a Sigur Ros song. Cap it off with a plug for the next event. And that’s how we do an aftermath video.
