Love for Loners: Brainwashin’

May 27, 2011

Love for Loners is our weekly feature promoting awesome work that is currently streaming on Netflix. It is written by resident misanthrope Jon Smith.

Hey there, loners. What a crazy time it’s been! Last night, Brandon and I got to enjoy free beers and fun people at the premiere of Postcards From America. Afterwards, we got to play music and eat matzah with some awesome folks. It was such a strange feeling, actually enjoying interacting with other humans. Anyway, here are some awesome films to occupy your weekend since you don’t have any friends.

Tremors
I love when films can be both suspenseful and hilarious. Tremors is about a small town that comes under attack from giant, prehistoric worms with brains. Awesome.

Exit Through the Gift Shop
I don’t think we’ll ever know whether or not this movie is real or just a huge practical joke. Either way, Mr. Brainwash is one of the most unique characters to ever be documented.

Doctor Who
This is one of those shows that you can jump into at any time; every episode is just as funny as the next and there isn’t really an arcing storyline. I would suggest skipping to the second season, because David Tennant is just that good.
